EU funding to improve the living environment in Šalovci

The Ministry of Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the project Green system in Šalovci – Green link Šalovci. The project will receive over €290,000 from the European Regional Development Fund.

The project aims to upgrade and integrate green and blue infrastructure into a recognisable and coherent urban area. It will contribute to climate change mitigation, improve public health and social well-being, ensure accessibility, increase the attractiveness of the urban environment and support the development of Šalovci in line with sustainable tourism principles. The project will connect the key locations across Šalovci through a 500-metre green corridor that covers 1.1 hectares. As a result, the established green infrastructure will improve habitat conditions, making green spaces more accessible to residents.

The €347,090 project will be implemented under Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme and will receive €295,026.50 from the European Regional Development Fund. The Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning is responsible for project implementation, and the Municipality of Šalovci is the beneficiary of the funding.
