The investment aims to landscape and functionally redesign the central public spaces in the urban centre of Ravne na Koroškem. The development follows the concept of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS), with the goal of improving the microclimate, increasing biodiversity, mitigating the impacts of climate change and ensuring a high quality of life. The project includes planting native trees, shrubs, and perennials, restoring meadows and flower beds, and establishing permeable walking paths.
The project is implemented under Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027. The total project value is €1,128,465.00, of which €781,362.93 will be provided by the European Regional Development Fund.
The Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning is responsible for project implementation, while the beneficiary of the funding is the Municipality of Ravne na Koroškem.
